Bhool Bhulaiya 2 Movie Review

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 Movie Review: A Maze Of Errors

Elaborate scenes on black magic–check. Predictable plot line–check. Exaggerated horror tropes and slapstick humor–double-check. Kartik Aryan’s failed attempts at mimicking Akshay Kumar’s grin? You bet! Bollywood never ceases to amaze the audience. If you are looking for a good Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 Movie Review then you have come to the right place.

Today we tell you all about the labyrinth of failure through the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 movie review.

Have you ever had something for dessert after the main course only to cringe away from the terrible aftertaste? That feeling is Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, the dessert that failed irreparably–baffling and worth every eye roll.

PLOT SUMMARY

Two strangers, Ruhan (Kartik Aryan) and Reet (Kiara Advani), turn friends after they meet at a pit stop in a hill station. As with any other Bollywood usual cliche (no points for that one), there is an irresistible attraction between the characters at first sight. Still, this one immediately turns for the worse when the bus to the music festival they didn’t join earlier plunges off a cliff, and Reet’s family mourns her death. Reet soon realizes that her fiancé is in love with her younger sister, and she devises a plan to get them both married with the assistance of Ruhan, who, without a second thought,  agrees to accompany her to her family manor in Rajasthan. Is it the manor where the evil witch is trapped for good? If you know, you know.

Here is the much-awaited Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 Movie Review

BHOOL BHULAIYAA MOVIE REVIEW: SPOILER ALERT

BHOOL BHULAIYAA 2 MOVIE REVIEW

Although the audience will agree that the sequel is nowhere related to the OG Bhool Bhulaiyaa, the background score, soundtracks, and Kartik Aryan’s constant attempts to ape Akshay Kumar’s dialogues and smile will constantly push you to compare both of the movies.

The chemistry between the characters, Reet and Ruhan, is a poorly assembled slideshow of two strangers who are exceedingly cringy and forcing their way to make things work.

Kartik seems like he is grooming himself to play the lead role in Akshay Kumar’s biopic movie, while Kiara Advani looks like she can, well, use a little more room to explore the character, seems lost in the screenplay. Tabu seems like the most versatile actor in the paranormal genre. Frankly, this movie is bearable, all thanks to her. Rajpal Yadav seems like his life could have been better without the bin of ash on his face.

There were instances in the horror-comedy where, regardless of the cliched horror tropes, the ghostly encounters coupled with the sound effects and attempted jump scares that are a tad over the top still land smoothly, and then there’s Manjulika’s makeup! That’s one disaster worth remembering. However, the element of humor fails in many places throughout the movie, especially those that are sexist and promote body shaming. Apparently, they are still a thing!

BHOOL BHULAIYAA 2 MOVIE REVIEW FINAL THOUGHT: WATCH IT OR PASS IT?

BHOOL BHULAIYAA 2 MOVIE FINAL REVIEW

The movie director, Anees Bazmee, carefully executed the scenes to keep the matinee crowd entertained throughout the film. The much-awaited sequel is a pack of silly humor, a couple of jumpscares, and songs that don’t click. Not all is in vain; the writers, Farhad Samji and Akash Kaushik have crafted some scenes worth giggling at. According to the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 Movie Review experts, it is an average movie at best. You tune in hoping for nostalgia and an epic plot line but emerge disappointed in the end. However, the film still manages to hold the golden rule of Bollywood: it entertains.
